2)Glory was released in 2014 in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement
3)This song was released as the theme song from the 2014 film “Selma”, which portrays the 1965 Selma to Montgomery marches. The movie showcased the battle of the Civil Right movement from 1965. The lyrics made reference to many important events of the Civil Right movement like Rosa Parks' resistance on the bus, the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MLK’s work, Jim Crow laws. “One day when the glory comes” “.. Now the war isn’t over” indicating that decades after the Civil Right movement discrimination against African Americans is still alive, the work isn’t still done yet. “Saw the face of Jim Crow under a bald eagle”, interpreting that the constitution and laws of this land support the Jim Crow laws.
