Answer:

2x + 2x+2 = 3x + 1

4x + 2 = 3x + 1

Subtract 3x from both sides

4x - 3x + 2 = 3x - 3x + 1

x + 2 = 1

Subtract 2 from both sides

x + 2 - 2 = 1 - 2

x = -1
