The Pax Romana was a period of sustained peace and stability during the first two centuries of the Roman Empire. It is generally considered to have lasted from 27 BC to 180 CE. <u>Julius Caesar wasn't Rome's ruler during the Pax Romana</u>, as he was murdered in 44 BC.
By the late 4th century, the Roman Empire was a vast empire stretching from along the Mediterranean Sea, from the Iberian Peninsula to the Middle East However, <u>with wars at home and on its borders, the empire had become too large for one person to rule effectively.</u> Emperor Theodosius I split the empire in two in 395.
Most had psychiatric symptoms, these ranged from difficulty sleeping to vivid flashbacks, and are now recognized as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
