Compare the strategies that Portuguese and Dutch used to establish footholds in Africa. How did the Portuguese strategy affect t
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

Portuguese and the dutch established their footholds through military force in Africa and Asia. They Both built fortifications and trading posts to support commercial activity. Unlike the Porteguese who'd just made forts, the Dutch settled permanent post. More land was taken over by Dutch settlers as the Porteguese just stayed along the coast. Because the Porteguese had not permentally settled and colonized their forts, other nations took over and their effects on the region did not last long after their empire had declined.

Clerics from Buddhist set themselves on fire to protest pro-American south Vietnamese policies in the early 1960s in south Vietnam.

Buddhist monks set themselves on fire in 1963 as a protest against the puppet Diem regime in South Vietnam. Buddhist monk Thich Quang Duc publicly burns himself to death in a plea for President Ngo Dinh Diem to reveal “charity and compassion” to all religions.

Despite the fact that South Vietnam's three to 4 million Buddhists made up almost eighty percent of the population, they were discriminated against by using the Catholic ruling elite. On might also 8, 1963, Buddhist followers within the metropolis of Hue celebrated the Buddha's 2,527th birthday.

Priests who practiced Buddhism immolated themselves in the course of the ensuing weeks. Madame Nhu, the president's sister-in-law, referred to the burnings as “barbecues” and offered to deliver suits.
