Answer: b. birds have beaks adapted to break open hard shells.

Explanation: rain forest are ecosystem which contain rich biodiversity. it is always wet, humid and warm.

animals found in the rain forest are highly adapted to the climate, and they are mostly tree dwellers and their diet consist mainly of fruit.

And since it has many trees to allow the birds  climb and look for food they develop strong beaks to open hard shells of fruit.

The human chromosome 1 is approximately 250 million nucleotides long. In order to reveal the sequence of human chromosome 1, the
Alona [7]

Answer:

The process is termed as sequence assembly.

Explanation:

The aligning and merging fragments from a longer sequence of DNA so that the original sequence can be redeveloped is termed sequence assembly in bioinformatics. The process of sequence assembly is essential as the DNA sequence technology fails to read the complete sequence of genomes in one go, and apart from that, it reads small fragments of DNA sequences between the sizes of 20 to 30000 base pairs.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that is toxic in high enough concentrations. It can be a by-pr
FrozenT [24]

Answer:

Carbon monoxide has much more affinity for the hemoglobin than the affinity of the oxygen to the hemoglobin almost 300 times more, which allows the Hb to bind with carbon monoxide irreversibly. Due to this, the small quantity of CO can also reduce the ability of oxygen transport of the hemoglobin.

Longer exposure of CO to the cHb will lead to reducing oxygen release by the Hb that is bound to oxygen in this T state which causes less oxygen availability. In aerobic oxidation mechanisms like oxidative phosphorylation will eventually stop. It will be shifted to anaerobic cellular respiration. The net production of ATP drastically reduced due to anaerobic glycolysis. Cells will eventually start to die causing the death of an organism.

Which components of animal plasma membranes reduces the permeability of the membrane to most biological molecules?
jarptica [38.1K]

Cholesterol

The animal plasma membrane is a layer of phospholipids that is entwined with cholesterol and proteins. Cholesterol makes up a small part of the cell membrane's mass and it is present in every cell of the body. Cholesterol maintains the integrity of the cell membrane. It assists in the immobilization of the outer surface of the cell membrane and it reduces the permeability of the membrane to most biological molecules. Cholesterol also perform roles in cell signaling, maintaining fluidity  and protecting important proteins in the membrane.
