What is the overall purpose of Queen Elizabeth's Address to the Troops at Tilbury?
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

The overall purpose of Queen Elizabeth's Address to the Troops at Tilbury is to inform the troops of their obligations. Or in other words,  to defend the country against a Spanish invasion.

Explanation:

On 9 August Old Style (19 August New Style) 1588, Queen Elizabeth I of England made the Speech to the Troops at Tilbury to the land troops gathering at Tilbury in Essex in preparation for resisting the predicted invasion by the Spanish Armada. Elizabeth I reigned over England and Ireland from November 17, 1558, until her death on March 24, 1603. The destruction of the Spanish Armada in 1588 has long been regarded as one of England's most significant military accomplishments. This document is a transcription of Queen Elizabeth's famous address to her troops gathered at Tilbury Camp to protect the kingdom against a Spanish invasion. The obvious purpose of the queen's speech is to rally her troops in the face of an impending confrontation with the Spaniards. The queen hopes to persuade the warriors that their struggle is for a good cause, and that their heroic deed of protecting their nation would not go unnoticed by the queen or the people of England.

Which sentence best describes an aesthetic impact?
goldenfox [79]

Aesthetics is refers in a very simple way as the theory of beauty, it is used in arta, in this case, literature. It makes a lot of different questions related to beauty and similar concepts. What makes things beautiful? Which elements contribute to it's beauty and how? You can see that this is a concept that is very difficult to address as philosophers continue debating towards it's elements and characteristics. In this case we are talking of an aesthetic impact, feeling in a powerful way, the beauty of a text. I think the best answer therefore is: D) The way the plot comes full circle is meant to make the reader fell satisfied.

Some of the characteristics of art that we most enjoy are the symmetry and harmony, literature is not the exception, we feel pleaced when this is achieved in a story or a poem. By having a plot that comes full circle this is accomplished, giving the sensation to the reader that he had a round experience, in which nothing was left aside closing the circle.

kaheart [24]

Answer:

See Below

Explanation:

the christian mystic saint john of the cross wrote about the ´dark night of the soul´ to describe the passage from sin towards true righteousness. he writes about the toil and tribulation which leads the sinner towards a greater appreciation of the works of god, which will ultimately lead him on to greater self-peace and fortitude.

before one can strive for the rewards of the blessings of god there must be some sort of test of character which proves that the holy spirit allows the individual to partake in the holiness which is bestowed by god. the progress from an initial state, where the character of the individual is in a raw unworked   form, towards a final end where the person will receive the love of god in a full manifestation, is only brought about through a test of character.

the character of the person who is looking to receive god´s grace is tested in the shadows of their own pride. even though that person may perform righteous acts before others and themselves, the truth of a person´s character,   which god will ultimately judge, lies within their interior wanting for a higher spiritual state.

the desire for spiritual pleasure is not the same as attaining a higher revelation of god´s glory. as such, humility is very important as well as temperance in striving towards the highest light. to contemplate the darkness of our own soul implies a test of character beyond spiritual vice.
