I believe the answer is: 4. They include the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.

Both the democratic party and the Republican has been the only two majority parties ever since they're established. They control the majority seats in the congress which mean that these parties also the one that had the strongest influence in the type of legislations that the government would pass.
