The Shah's government was known for its autocracy, his one man rule where political corruption and political persecution were enforced by the Iranian secret police known as the Savak. Ayatollah Khomeini accused the Shah of Westernization, violation of the Iranian constitution and for paving a path towards the destruction of Islam in Iran.

The main reasons were dictatorial tendency, oil revenue and increased westernization of Iran.
The revolution was in part a conservative backlash against the westernization, modernization and secularization efforts of the Western-backed Shah. The shah were viewed as being a western agent of perpetrating injustices, which he did through the secret police.<span />

Write a descriptive essay that summarizes the contributions of either Asian Americans or African Americans to
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

The uninterrupted history of blacks in the United States began in 1619, when 20 Africans were landed in the English colony of Virginia. These individuals were not slaves but indentured servants—persons bound to an employer for a limited number of years—as were many of the settlers of European descent (whites). By the 1660s large numbers of Africans were being brought to the English colonies. In 1790 blacks numbered almost 760,000 and made up nearly one-fifth of the population of the United States.
