According to the psychologist R.D. Lang assumptions or hunches that we might have about others, keep us from operating in the real world.

He studied SELF-AWARENESS AND SELF-DISCLOSURE.

<u>Self-awareness:</u> is the ability to see yourself realistically without difference in what you really are how you assume others see you.

<u>Self-disclosure</u>: is the ability to let another person know what is real about you ( your feelings, thoughts, desires, etc)

He considers that people spend too much time building walls to prevent other people from determining  their thoughts and motives. If the walls are not there, it wil result in loneliness and rejection.
