***** sketch power in math *****

If we sketch the shape of the solid, it is a corner of a cube of side length 8.
Hence the volume is one-sixth of a cube,
Volume = 8^3/6=256/3=85.333...

Or it is a pyramid with triangular base with two faces perpendicular to the base,
area of base = 8^2/2=32, height=8, so
volume = Ab*h/3=32*8/3=256/3=85.333... as before

How do you solve 7.2>0.9(n+8.6)
labwork [276]
7.2>0.9(n+8.6)
multiply 0.9 by all in parentheses

7.2> (0.9*n) + (0.9*8.6)
7.2> 0.9n + 7.74

subtract 7.74 from both sides
-0.54> 0.9n

divide both sides by 0.9
-0.6> n

ANSWER: -0.6> n

Hope this helps! :)

Solve for x. -3(x+n)=x
marusya05 [52]

Answer:

x = 3/4 n

Step-by-step explanation:

-3(x+n)=x

Distribute

-3x-3n = x

Add 3x to each side

-3x-3n+3x= x+3x

3n = 4x

Divide by 4

3/4n = 3x/3

3/4 n = x

Juan owns 7 pairs of pants, 3 shirts, 5 ties, and 6 jackets. How many different outfits can he wear to school if he must wear on
ZanzabumX [31]

To solve this problem, just use multiplication.

7\text{ pairs of pants}*3\text{ shirts}*5\text{ ties}*6\text{ jackets}=\large\boxed{630\text{ outfits}}

You can somewhat think of this situation as a sort of tree. You start with 7 large branches representing the pants, then for every one of those you have 3 medium-sized branches to represent the pairs of pants. Each one of those has 5 sticks for the ties, which in turn each have 6 leaves to represent the jackets and therefore a complete outfit. The solution is found by getting the total number of leaves on the tree.

In one day, Annie traveled 5 times The sum of the numbers of hours Brian traveled and two. Together they traveled 20 hours. Find
grigory [225]

5B + B = 20

6B = 20

B = 20 / 6

= 10/ 3 hrs

A = 5 ( 10/3 + 2)

 = 5 (16/3)

 = 80 / 3 hrs

 Brian traveled 10/3 hours and Annie traveled 80/3 hours.
