Answer: x = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

We can see two triangles rectangles, we will use the angle S to solve this, as this angle is common to both triangles.

We know that:

cos(S) = adj cathetus/hipotenuse.

Then we have, for the triangle SRT.

Cos(S) = 9/SR.

for the big triangle, SQR, we have:

Cos(S) = SR/(9 + 16)

now we can find the quotient of those two equations and get:

cos(S)/cos(S) = 9/Sr*(9+16)/SR

SR^2 = 9*(25)

SR =  15.

Now with this side we can find the value of x.

We can use the Pythagorean theorem in the triangle SRT, where the sum of the squared cathetus is equal to the hypotenuse:

9^2 + x^2 = 15^2

x = √(15^2  - 9^2) = 12

Does the equation have a max or min
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

Min

Step-by-step explanation:

To check if it has a max or min, you must reference the a value. The a value in this case is 2, and that is positive. Positive parabolas point up, so they can only have a minimum point.

15PTS!!!! HELPPPP!!! Determine the length of fencing around an 80 m by 170 m rectangular playing field if fence is to be 25 m ou
marshall27 [118]
Perimeter=2L+2W, in this case L=80+2(25) and W=170+2(25) so

P=2(L+W)=2(80+50+170+50)

P=2(350)=700m

The area of a circle is 36/pi cm^2 What is the radius of the circle?
Lady bird [3.3K]

Answer:

the  radius of the circle is 6cm

Step-by-step explanation:

the area of a circle is given to be  = 36πcm²

radius of the circle = ?

to find the radius of the circle lets start by applying  the formula for finding the area of a circle.

area of a circle = πr²

36πcm² = πr²

36π = πr²

divide both sides by π

36π/π = πr²/π

36 = r²

to get the value of r we are going to look for a way of getting rid of the square on "r" by squaring 36

r² = 36

r =√36

r = 6cm

therefore the  radius of the circle is 6cm
