Answer:

Presence of two copies of mutated alleles would cause sickle cell anemia in person.

Explanation:

The gene HBB codes for the beta globin protein of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein present in red blood cells and serve in oxygen transport. Mutation in HBB gene leads to production of abnormal hemoglobin molecules. These hemoglobin molecules stick to each other and impart stiffness and sickle shape to the red blood cells. Presence of two copies of mutated gene leads to sickle cell anemia characterized by reduced oxygen supply to the body cells and/or blocked blood vessels.

Analogous structures are structures which serve similar function in different organisms and evolved independently in two living organisms while homologous structures are the structures which are similar in related orgnanism due to inheritance.

How will virtual learning help you grow as a student?
Ann [662]

Answer:

Virtual learning will help me grow as a student by forcing me to step out of my comfort zone and explore different learning opportunities. Learning online is a challenge that I hope to overcome. Even though school will be very different, I know that this is just a learning curve that will help me become a better student and person overall.
