Answer:

The difference between colonialism and economic imperialism is that in colonialism there is a territorial control exercised by the colonialist country on the colonial territories, in order to exploit the resources of the colonies.

In the case of economic imperialism, there is no direct relationship between the imperial power and the subsidiary countries, but there is a certain power executed by the powers that keeps subsidiary countries into the economical orbit of the economic powers, in a situation of commercial dependence.

Particularly, Edward Said distinguishes the difference between imperialism and colonialism by stating; "imperialism involved 'the practice, the theory and the attitudes of a dominating metropolitan center ruling a distant territory', while colonialism refers to the 'implanting of settlements on a distant territory.'

How did deregulation of business take place in 1920s?
gtnhenbr [62]

Deregulation is the process of removing or reducing state regulations, typically in the economic sphere. It is the repeal of governmental regulation of the economy. It became common in advanced industrial economies in the 1970s and 1980s, as a result of new trends in economic thinking about the inefficiencies of government regulation, and the risk that regulatory agencies would be controlled by the regulated industry to its benefit, and thereby hurt consumers and the wider economy. Economic regulations were promoted during the Gilded Age, in which progressive reforms were touted as necessary to limit externalities like corporate abuse, unsafe child labor, monopolization, pollution, and to mitigate boom and bust cycles. Around the late 1970s, such reforms were deemed as burdensome on economic growth and many politicians espousing neoliberalism started promoting deregulation. Hope this helps!!
