It had a devastating result as more then 300 Americans were killed and more then 200 fighting ships
It was a great toll on America but that made them create the Lend and Lease act to help Britain get retaliation

Answer -

The Truman Doctrine was basically a shot at the Soviet Communism and how it wasn't right, so this obviously angered the Soviets. The Doctrine caused a divide between the communists and non-communists, which did indeed grow tension between America and the Soviet Union which eventually would lead to the Cold War.

Because of the US massive industrial expansion and production, US industries needed new markets to sell their goods to and they need access to more natural resources to ensure the continued production. The US expanded its inluences into Alaska, the Pacific (Hawaii, Samoa, Guam, and the Philippines), Latin America and Asia (China and Japan)
