Why do most global ecosystems form broad latitudinal belts across the world?
Lostsunrise [7]

The fact that the global ecosystems form broad latitudinal belts is mostly because of climatic reasons. It works very simply, the shape of the Earth doesn't allow the sun to heat up the surface equally in every place, so on the equator and around it the sun heats up the Earth the most, as the latitude changes the sun rays become weaker and weaker because they fall at a smaller angle and are dispersing much more, this forms the different climatic regions on Earth thus creating different ecosystems with it, ecosystems that have their borders mostly on the lines of change in climate from one region to another, so we mostly have latitudinal belts of ecosystems.

Inga [223]

Flooding because of dam failures, subsidence, etc. are secondary effects, whereas shaking of structures, liquefaction, etc. by faulting are direct damage.

What are secondary catastrophic effects?

Secondary effects are indirectly associated with the occurrence of a catastrophic event (in this case, a earthquake).

Moreover, direct damage makes reference to eventual immediate effects that such catastrophic events may have.

In conclusion, flooding because of dam failures, subsidence, etc. are secondary effects, whereas shaking of structures, liquefaction, etc. by faulting are direct damage.

grigory [225]

The answer is closer.

Parallax is used to determine how far a star is from earth by measuring its parallactic angle. If star a has a larger parallactic angle than star b, star a is closer than star b.

What is parallax?

When there is a difference in the direction of a celestial object as seen by an observer from two points which are widely separated, then this distance is termed as parallax.

This parallax measurement is used to find the distance of the body from Earth which is called Geocentric parallax and from the Sun which is called Heliocentric Parallax.

What can sediments do?
kenny6666 [7]

Broken down of soil particles by the processes of weathering and erosion, carried by the action of wind, water, ice or by the force of gravity acting on the particles.

Explanation:.

Sediment enriches the soil with nutrients and rich in biodiversity. This soil works great for farming. The deposition of sediments makes the agricultural areas like deltas and river banks more fertile.

Glaciers carry a huge range of sediment with several sizes. With continues deposition, space for the animal and plant life gets reduced.

The most dangerous part is that the animal’s may suffocate and intervention may occur with their food intake.
