By banning distribution of Mandela's images, ideas, and words the government hoped to end his protest. The government wanted to prevent a movement from growing and wanted to deter the people already involved in the protests.

Focusing on diversity of color or diversity of race is not what we should be focusing on but instead diversity of thought. Focusing on race is what racists do. If the population wanted a diverse government they would have voted for one. Just because a particular segment of a group is one race does not mean it's a problem. we have a democracy. As private citezins we should ensure our democracy prevails because whatever the people want is what will be found in Congress or politics.
