I can’t see the passages but to have “ocean” be a key term I would assume that it is because both of the passages use that word a lot and/or refer to it more than once :)
Choice E appears to be the best answer as it allows for an expansive essay that can focus on both positive and negative aspects of social media. The other choices would only encourage too much opinion or one-sided arguments, which would prevent the essay from developing into a thorough analysis.
