Answer: Option (c) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

When there is transfer of electrons from one atom to another then it results in the formation of ionic bond.

This bond formation takes place between a metal and a non-metal.

Mg being a cation has excess of electrons and Cl being an anion has deficiency of electrons. Therefore, in order to attain stability there will be transfer of electrons between Mg and Cl.

Thus, out of the given options Mg and Cl will form an ionic bond

The atoms of Mg (Magnesium) and Cl (Chlorine) will form an ionic bond. Ionic bond is basically formed by the sharing of electrons. Magnesium being a metal has two electrons in its outermost shell which Mg can readily loose to attain stability, chlorine on the other hand has seven electrons in the outermost shell so it can accept one electron to attain stability. So, both Mg Cl can form ionic bond with each other so form a stable compound MgCl2.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a non-fermenting GNR, it grows on EMB. Which of the following would be true (Circle none, one or many)
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

The correct answer is a. Pseudomonas aeruginosa would be colorless on EMB

Explanation:

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a gram-positive bacteria that is rod shape. It shows a few nutritional requirements and can even adapt to those conditions in which the other bacteria can be adapt.

It is non-fermentative bacteria so it does not ferment lactose and other carbohydrates. As EMB agar contains lactose and some dye, therefore, the lactose fermenting bacteria ferment the lactose and show good growth and color change.

But as Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a non-fermentative bacteria it does not ferment lactose and does not show any color and forms a colorless colony. Therefore the correct answer is a.

Animals and plants use the chemical energy stored carbohydrates to fuel their own life processes, ultimately breaking down these
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

A good example happens during the breakdown of food particles.

Explanation:

The chemical energy stored in food is a type of potential energy. Transformation of this energy into kinetic energy happens during chemical reactions that takes place during digestion. A good example of kinetic energy is therefore the breakdown of carbohydrates into carbon dioxide, water and heat.

How does anatomy provide evidence for evolution?
Alenkinab [10]
The study of comparative anatomy predates the modern study of evolution. Early evolutionary scientists like Buffon and Lamarck used comparative anatomy to determine relationships between species. Organisms with similar structures, they argued, must have acquired these traits from a common ancestor. Today, comparative anatomy can serve as the first line of reasoning in determining the relatedness of species. However, there are many hidden dangers that make it necessary to support evidence from comparative anatomy with evidence from other fields of study.
