Persistent?  Let's find the imaginary roots...

10v^2+4v+70=0

10v^2+4v=-70

v^2+2v/5=-7

v^2+2v/5+1/25=-7+1/25

(v+1/5)^2=-174/25

v+1/5=(+-)i(174)^(1/2)/5

v=(-1+i(174^.5)/5) and (-1-i(174^.5))/5

note the "i" in both factors...these are imaginary units and if you were to graph the original expression you would see that the curve never touches the x axis...

So 8 meals for $10 each , 2 tickets for $45 each, and 2 jerseys for $65 each
So (8x10) + (2x45) + (2x65) is the equation
And the answer is $300 because 8x10 is 80, 2x45 is 90, 2x65 is 130 and if you add it all up you'll get $300
80 + 90 = 170 + 130 = 300

Hope this helps! :)

What is the center of the hyperbola?<br> (1,-2)<br> (1,1) (1,3)<br> (1,6)
Ahat [919]

Answer:

(1, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

The center of a hyperbola can be found by looking at the midpoint between the two vertices.

Here, the two vertices are (1, 8) and (1, -2). We use the Midpoint Formula to figure out the vertex:

Midpoint is: (\frac{1+1}{2} ,\frac{8+(-2)}{2} )=(\frac{2}{2} ,\frac{6}{2} )=(1,3)

Thus, the answer is (1, 3).

Hope this helps!
