The part of Africa that had a somewhat peaceful transition, compared to the other parts of the continent, from European imperialism, was North Africa. Even though far from perfect, and this region had its own struggles and problems, it was by far the most peaceful compared to the other parts of the continent were there were lots of civil wars, genocides, government overtaking's etc. <span />
