Firstly, water can mineralize the chemicals through hydrolysis. This is achieved through the reactive nature of Hydrogen. Upon reaction, the chemically available compound disossciates and mineralizes. Secondly, water can react with CO2 to form carbonic acid which is a weak acid. Although it gets partially ionized, it can dissocilate minerals such as CaCO3 in the rock with the passage of time.
