The United States of America Budget in 2018 for the social security budget was 982 billion dollars, Medicare budget was 582 billion dollars.

The rest of the budget was distributed in the following scheme: Defense budget was 623 billion dollars, 639 billion dollars for nondefense, other not specified programs 570 billion dollars, Medicaid 389 billion dollars and interest was 325 billion dollars. If we add these figures we get. 1564 billion dollars from social security and medicare programs. While by adding the rest of the programs we get 2546 billion dollars or a total budget of 4110 billion dollars. From which the 1564 billion dollars was 38%.
