This is true, asexual reproduction involes the exact copying of a parent to its offspring.  In sexual reproduction, two parent's DNA is intermixed, thus giving new DNA.  Since there is only one parent in asexual reproduction, there is no chance of variability.  The only time the DNA may be different is during a mutation, which is not caused during the reproduction.
