First, you need to change them so that they all havea the same denominator.
1/2, 3/4,5/4, 1/4.  You can make them all the same by changing the 1/2 to 2/4.
Now you can see that 1/4 goes first, on the first little upright on the line between 0 and 1. 
1/2 goes on the next little upright.
3/4 goes on the third upright.
5/4 goes on the upright line past the 1.

To round to the nearest whole number, you would round the 1/4 down to 0.
1/2 I would round up, but it can go either way.  I would call it 1.
3/4 goes up to 1.
5/4 would be rounded DOWN to 1.
