Answer:

A dog pants in the heat to control its body temperature. Panting is a mechanism of homeostasis that dogs use for regulation .

Explanation:

The animals' bodies, to function properly, must be in balance. It is essential, for example, that the body temperature remains constant, the pressure does not rise or fall abruptly and that the heartbeat remains at an adequate pace. If the medium is changed, the cells cannot function properly.

All vital mechanisms, despite being quite distinct, have the primary function of keeping the internal environment constant. Walter Cannon, an American physiologist, then coined the term homeostasis to name these internal conditions in the organism.

We can conclude, then, that homeostasis is the ability of biological systems to remain in a state of equilibrium even in conditions of constant change in the external environment. This ability is achieved thanks to physiological processes that act in a coordinated way in our body and prevent variations in the environment from interfering inside the body. An example of this is seen in the question above, where a dog gasps in the heat to control his body temperature. Panting is a homeostasis mechanism that dogs use to regulate.
