A. There are several reasons why learners might not get admitted in universities:

  1. They do not perform well on the university's admission tests.
  2. They do not fulfill the admission criteria of the university.

2.4.2 Advice the parent on a strategy that the daughter can adopt to obtain  her medical degree despite not being accepted at medical school.

A. If their daughter did not get into a public medical college or they cannot afford the high tuition fees and its expenses, her parents might want to have her apply in colleges that are cheaper or choose a different medical degree that would allow her to still graduate.

2.5  After one has completed a bachelor's degree, what are the next. THREE degrees one can obtain if accepted?

A. After the completion of a bachelor's degree, one can achieve the following three degrees.

  1. MPhil i.e. masters of philosophy.
  2. Masters i.e. poast graduation

  2. Look for scholarships inside and outside university.
  3. Try to get a part time job that would help you to manage maintain your finances.

2.7. Discuss in a paragraph the function of SETAs for post-school  learners.

A. SETA facilitates training for the out-of-school-youth and helps them in acquiring additional skills that would help them in acquiring admissions in leading colleges and universities and getting top employment opportunities. The staff of SETAs includes people from all fields.

2.8 Why is it so important to check the accreditation of a private higher  learning institution? Explain TWO reasons

A. Following are the reasons for checking the accreditation of private institution;

  1. Private higher learning institutions are usually expensive. It is important to a background check to see how successful they are in producing the cream.
  2. Another reason would be to check if their degree is recognized globally. Otherwise paying high tuition fees would be of no use if the degree doesn't work everywhere.
