Answer:

<11,33>

Step-by-step explanation:

If it is perpendicular to <3,-1>  We can use  <0,0> as the other point to get the slope

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x2)

The slope of the vector is

  (-1-0)/(3-0)

=  -1/3

Then we want a vector perpendicular, so we take the negative reciprocal of the slope

- (-3/1) =3

So the perpendicular slope is 3

Our new vector y/x = 3/1

    Using cross products

3x=y

The magnitude has to be 11 sqrt (10)

magnitude = sqrt( ((x)^2 + y^2) = 11sqrt(10)

magnitude = sqrt( ((x^2 + y^2) = 11sqrt(10)

Square both sides

x^2+y^2 = 11^2*10

x^2 + y^2 =1210

We have 2 equations and 2 unknowns

x^2 +y^2 =1210  and

3x=y

Replace y with 3x

x^2 + (3x)^2 =1210

x^2 +9x^2 =1210

10x^2 =1210

Divide both sides by 10

x^2 =121

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(x^2) = sqrt(121)

x=±11

But it problems states it has to be in the first quadrant so x=11

x =11

Now we can find y

y =3x

y =11*3

y =33

The vector is <11, 33>

If the Alpha company is 79% staffed and the Beta company is only 62% staffed, what is the relative change of staffing from the A
sweet [91]

Answer:

27.41%

Step-by-step explanation:

Data provided in the question

The staffed of Alpha company = 79%

The staffed of Beta company = 62%

Based on the above information, the relative change of staffing from Alpha to beta company is

As we know that

\bold {\ Relative \ change = \frac{\alpha- \beta }{\beta }}

= \frac{(79 -62)}{62} \% \\\\= \frac{17}{62} \times 100\\\\=0.2741 \times 100\\\\=27.41\ \%

By applying the above formula we can get the relative change and the same is to be applied so that the correct percentage could come

Write the equation in standard form.<br> y - 10=-2(x-8)
Bess [88]

Answer:

2x + y = 26

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form of a linear equation is   A x + By = C.

Simplify -2(x - 8)

Multiply -2 by -8

y - 10 = -2x + 16

2x + y - 10 = 16

Add 10 to both sides.

Add 16 and 10

Answer= 2x + y = 26

Having serious block because of the units The density of mercury is 13.6 g/cm3. What approximate mass of mercury is required to
mart [117]
I would approach the problem like this:

1 oz bottle.............................30cm^3
33 oz bottle.............................xcm^3

in a 33 oz bottle will be x=33*30=990cm^3
density=mm/v
13.6g/cm^3= m/ 990cm^3
m= 13.6 * 990=13464 g
or 13.464 kg in a 33 oz bottle
