Answer:

 • Analyze and critique the story.
 • Understand the literary elements of the story.
 • Comprehend the surface meaning of the story.

Explanation:

Close reading, is a reading technique that aims to analyze various aspects of the text or select one of these aspects, always seeking a deeper understanding of the text. At first it may seem like a mere interpretation of text, but make no mistake, close reading goes further because it seeks not only to understand what is between the lines, but also the structure chosen by the author, the gradations of conflict, the narrative rhythm, the word selections, etc.

Close reading is able to help the reader:

 • Analyze and critique the story.
 • Understand the literary elements of the story.
 • Comprehend the surface meaning of the story.

What is class conflict and what are examples of class conflict?
liberstina [14]

Answer:

Class conflict is the political tension and economic antagonism between two or more different social classes usually as a result of socio-economic competition.

One of the best examples would be France in the late 1700's, where the difference between the socio-economic status of the king, nobles and clergy created a conflict that would end up with the lower classes rising up and starting a revolution.

Which is the most precise and concise way to rewrite the following sentence from "A Fable" by Mark Twain?
svlad2 [7]

A.) The subject was dropped, but it was clear that it would be brought up again.

The first sentence is the most exact and the most precise because of how the idea is communicated in least amount of words possible. It is important to keep in mind that when you are writing something that comprehension always goes down the more words there are in a sentence. Thus, it is always best to communicate with the fewest words possible. Let’s take a look at another example. Say you are at a baseball game and a fly ball is coming directly toward you without your knowledge, and the person sitting next to you tries to warn you by saying the following: “Because of the velocity of a baseball coming in your direction and the potential damage it may cause if it comes into contact with your head because you are not wearing a helmet and because ambulance rides as well as emergency room visits are not fun nor cheap, you should probably seek to get out of the way as soon as possible.” How would that work? Now, compare that to the more exact/precise sentence of “Duck!” See how that works?
