An increase in jobs, but this led to a huge amount of people dying due to terrible working conditions and being underpaid. In the U.S. the jobs in the industrial force was mainly occupied by immigrants who were significantly underpaid due to lack of knowledge and language. They were significantly discriminated against as well.
