Answer:

The 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America was adopted as a result of the Civil War. It contains the Equal Treatment clause, the right to due process in the states and the principles of citizenship law (Ius Soli). It was proposed for adoption on June 13, 1866 and ratified on July 28, 1868.

The amendment provides a far-reaching definition of US citizenship. It promises all persons (and not just nationals) the same protection of United States laws that are under the jurisdiction of the various states. The main concern of the authors was that equal protection be established regardless of race.

How does the rate of a proportional tax change with income?
bija089 [108]

Answer:

B. The rate remains the same, even if income increases or decreases.

Explanation:

Proportional tex means that the rate of taxes is the same for everyone. It does not change based on someone’s income. Those who earn more pay the same amount of annual taxes as those people whose incomes are low. This system is also called flat taxes.

Some say that this is the way to motivate people to work and earn more, so they can lose less money proportionally to the taxes. Others criticize the proportional tax system as unfair to those who have low incomes.
