Henry Howard, Earl of Surrey and Sir Thomas Wyatt are considered to be the English poetry inaugurators in the reign of Elizabeth I. Edmund Spencer was the greatest poet of English renaissance. He was known for his poem, 'The Faerie Queen,' fantasy poem which was an allegory to Queen Elizabeth's reign. For his cycle of a love sonnet, he is popularly is known for which includes 'Epithalamion,' which was written in celebration of his marriage.
