You can ask questions, but you may not find all the answers. - Compound

Explanation:

A simple sentence is a sentence that has the most basic elements every sentence needs: a subject, a verb, and a completed thought. For example, the subject in the first example is ketchup, and the predicate is makes. A completed thought is present, so we can say that that is a complete simple sentence.

A compound sentence is a sentence that consists of at least two independent clauses connected by a comma, semicolon, or conjunction. The third example consists of two independent clauses:

 • Hydrogen has weight.
 • You can't weigh it on an ordinary scale.

These two clauses are connected by the conjunction but. That's why they make up a compound sentence.

Every other example can be analyzed the same way.

Why did the invasion of france have to begin at night
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

Germany realized that a war with Russia meant a war with France, and so its war plans called for an immediate attack on France through Belgium hoping for a quick victory before the slow-moving Russians could become a factor. I think the reason why it was at night was so that they could get them by surprise. Sorry if this is wrong.
