The parents are experiencing sadness and frustration due to their son leaving, but at the same time they are happy for him. He is going out in the world, possibly for a job, to finally become a man. To make it short, he is growing up, that is good and bad.

In the first paragraph, the narrator says, "[The Hydrophobic Skunk] is so rare that nobody ever saw him--that is, nobody except
poizon [28]
It is based on the context that the Hydrophobic Skunk is so rare that nobody ever saw him, this indicates that the regular person from anywhere cannot identify if the skunk really exist since no one has ever seen one. It is like a myth or a legend or just really rare. For the native, who has seen one or perhaps has been living with one around its area, knows the skunk exists, but depends on whether he or she knows its the name as Hydrophobic Skunk since no report was given that the skunk lives in the certain area. He or she may refer to it as just a skunk.

Bond [772]
A prose is more complex because it is almost like speaking poetry, you use more rhythmic words and sentences to continue on with the flow of the prose.

lilavasa [31]

In the movie version, it was never stated why Boo is stuck in the house.  There were only rumors. However, in the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” it was stated there that Boo was locked in the house because he committed a small crime when he was young and was out in jail.
