Answer:

Identity is who you are, and who society sees you as. You could use things like your name, for starters. Start by saying "Hello, I am ___" or things your interested in, such as "I enjoy painting and acting". You can also indicate your identity with physical proof, such as a birth certificate, or your drivers licence.

As the journey goes on, the narrator describes the places he visits as really obscure and sinister, places where he does not want to be. Time drags and every place looks the same, so he unconsciously wants this images to slip out of his memory.
