If you predict the population of Hamilton County in 2003, are you interpolating or extrapolating?
Hitman42 [59]

Given,

The population of the county in 2000 is 844.

The population of the county in 2009 is 856.

The population of the county in 2015 is 810.

Here, the population of 2000 and 2009 is given.

As known, the value changes linearly between two points.

When the value changes linearly between two points, then value of point between given points can be obtained by interpolation.

Hence, to predict the population of county interpolation is used.

What number goes on top
Sergio [31]

I'm not sure what you're really talking about.

But I think you are talking about fractions.

In fractions there are two places

The number that goes on the top is numerator.

Find the height and area of each of these triangles
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

area= 1/2*(h*b) h- height, b- base

the triangle is isosceles (denoted by the 2 dashes on the sides of the triangle)

so they are equal in length

angles in triangle = 180

so 38+38=76

180-76=104

base=24

divide the triangle in the center

so now triangle 1(left) the base = 12

and triangle 2(right) the base = 12

use trigonometric ratios

in this we need to find the height

which is opposite of 38,

we already have the adjacent =12

so the ratio is Tan (Tangent Opposite/Adjacent)(TOA)

Tan38= (12/h)

multiply by h

h*Tan38=12

h=12/tan38 = 15.35929959
