Answer:

The answer is D) Grendel's later violence is rooted in his childhood fear and isolation

Explanation:

According to John Gardner's Grendel, the character did not live a happy childhood. There were several moments where he felt alone and forgotten. He is scared of being left aside and struggles from the isolation. All these aspects led him to become a violent creature who enjoys killing others without remorse.

In “Your Laughter,” the symbol of the blue flower expresses the speaker’s _____.
cluponka [151]

Answer: I do not know if this is a multiple choice question or not, but I would contend that the blue flower is a reference to Neruda's country, Chile.

Explanation: The color blue is part of the flag of Chile. It symbolises, in part, the Pacific Ocean, and I believe that in these lines of his famous poem, the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda was referring to his beloved country, which he had had to abandon due to his political views. He is telling his lover that he wants her laughter like the flower he was waiting for, "the blue flower, the rose of my echoing country." He cannot have his country, but his lover's laughter will bring him the comfort that he needs in these difficult days away from his homeland.

Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer:

There are a number of different reasons and ways to use your sinking funds. If you have a planned expense, (such as a vacation), or an annual expense, (like preschool tuition), you can set up a sinking fund for it. Things like your vacation, home remodeling, and taxes could all have sinking funds.
