History

Answer:

The correct answer is the first, They feared competition from black workers.

Explanation:

The reason why some northern workers opposed abolitionism was because they saw the liberation of black people as a potential threat to their jobs because of competition.

It must be said though that records show it was a minority of norther workers who were explicitly and actively against abolitionism. Most of the time workers weren't active supporters because they saw themselves as wage slaves struggling to survive who didn't have time to fight for anything else.

bulgar [2K]

Recently, within the current globalized world, a movement for the support of local economies in opposition to globalized ones, has emerged.

Local economies give priority to local labor and to the commercialization of the products elaborated in the local markets. Therefore, the wealth generated stays in the community and its vitality is preserved. Moreover, if economic activities take place at the local level, a greater diversity is ensured worldwide, instead of a moving towards a global standarization. Also, local economies are more likely to care about qualitative apart from quantitative terms, as those who perform the transactions also experience their consequences directly.
