How might a relic boundary influence its community? (4 points)
MakcuM [25]

The correct answers are:

1. II and IV;

The relic boundaries are man-made boundaries that have existed in the past, but they are not existent in the present. This type of boundaries are often reminder of a period of dividing between the people with force. In the present, the relic boundaries may be found useful in order to divide the country into voting districts, but it can also very often be seen that even though the boundary doesn't exist anymore, the people on the opposite sides of it have different cultural traits. The perfect example is the Berlin Wall, where even nowadays it can easily be noticed that there's cultural differences between the Germans from the Western and the Eastern part.

2. II and IV;

The federal style of government is functioning very well in multiple countries throughout the world, but it also may be a step towards independence of a certain territory.

However, this system functions the best if a country has multiple ethnic groups, which dominate certain part of the country, or if the country has multiple political exclaves. A nice example is the Russian Federation, where these are the exact concepts used for the federal units in the country like Chechnya, Tuva, or Tatarstan.

quiz lethow does the ocean floor preserve evidence of past magnetic reversals. a) magnetic particles in basalt orient with the m
Sloan [31]

The ocean floor preserve evidence of past magnetic reversals because c) the ocean floor is uniformly old, preserving the earth's 4.6 billion history.

What subjects need to be studied to study the earth's magnetism?

Paleomagnetism is the study of naturally occurring residual magnetism in rocks with the goal of understanding the strength and direction of the Earth's magnetic field in the geologic past and understanding the motion history of plates. Paleomagnetic fields have played a large role in confirming undersea propagation, through the discovery and understanding of seafloor anomalies. In the 1960s, geophysicists studied the magnetic properties of the ocean floor and began to discover some amazing properties.

The seabed has a system of linear magnetic anomalies in which a "band" has all its magnetic minerals oriented in the same way as the current magnetic field and the magnetic minerals in the bands alternating is oriented in the opposite direction. These bands are oriented parallel to the mid-ocean ridge system; where the ridges compensate for the transform error, the anomalies are also compensated. Symmetrical anomalies are found on either side of the ridge, and similar symmetry is found in ridges around the world.

What factors are most significant in describing the climate of a region?
viva [34]
Use the latitude and longitude to also realise the distance from the region to the sun. E.g Hawaii is located close to the equator, which means the distance from Hawaii to the sun is smaller compared to New Zealand and the sun because New Zealand is much further from the equator. This is means Hawaii receives more intense sun rays, therefore experiences a very tropical climate. New Zealand on the other hand is much further from the sun so experiences less intense sun rays, and therefore has a mild climate.
Another factor to consider is the intertropical convergence zone, a belt of converging trade winds and rising air that encircles the earth near the equator. Variation in the location of the intertropical convergence zone drastically affects rainfall in many equatorial regions, resulting in the wet and dry seasons of the tropics rather than the cold and warm seasons of higher latitudes.
