Give the formula of each coordination compound. Include square brackets around the coordination complex. Do not include the oxid
rodikova [14]

Answer:

sodium hexachloroplatinate(IV)- Na2[PtCl6]

dibromobis(ethylenediamine)cobalt(III) bromide- [Co(en)2Br2]Br

pentaamminechlorochromium(III) chloride-[Cr(NH3)5Cl]Cl2

Explanation:

The formulas of the various coordination compounds can be written from their names taking cognisance of the metal oxidation state as shown above. The oxidation state of the metal will determine the number of counter ions present in the coordination compound.

The number ligands are shown by subscripts attached to the ligand symbols. Remember that bidentate ligands such as ethylenediamine bonds to the central metal ion via two donors.

Identify the intermolecular forces present in each of these substances ch4
djverab [1.8K]
There are four type of intermolecular forces: ionic, dipole-dipole, hydrogen bonds and London disperssion forces.

CH4 have  no ions, so there are  not ionic forces.

CH4 is a symetrical molecule, so there cannot be a net dipole in the molecule, so there is not dipole-dipole interaction.

Hydrogen bonding is only possbile when H is bonded to N, O or F, beacuse they are the atoms that considerable higher electgronegativy than hydrogen.

So, the only intermolecular force present in CH4 molecules is London disperssion forces, which is a force present in any molecule and is the weakiest one. That explains the low melting and boiling points of CH4.

26. a megagram = 10⁶ grams while a kilogram = 10³ grams, so the megagram is bigger

28. a mililiter = 10⁻³ liters while a microliter = 10⁻⁶ liters, so the mililiter is bigger

36.   1 meter is equal to 100 centimeters, so the decimal moves right 2 places

37. 1 micrometer is equal to 0.001 milimeters, so the decimal moves left 3 places

38. 1 centimeter is equal to 0.00001 kilometers, so the decimal moves left 5 places

39. 1 micrometer is equal to 10⁻¹² megameters, so the decimal moves left 12 places

40. 1 kilometer is equal to 100000 centimeters, so the decimal moves right 5 places
