In for a plant or animal to fossilize, there have to certain conditions that will enable that process, or rather preservation. That is not the case usually, and considering the amount of animals and plants that existed, and even more the ones that existed in the geological past, the amount of fossils is extremely small. If it was common for the plants and animals to be fossilized, even 1 out of 1,000, than we would have been seeing and finding fossils pretty much on every spot of the planet, but that is not the case.
Bhutan and Nepal on one side, and Sri Lanka and Maldives on the other side, have both some similarities and differences.
Similarities:
- All of them belong in the South Asia region;
- They are all small nations;
- They have multiple ethnic and religious groups;
- All of them are poor countries, with less developed economies;
Differences:
- Bhutan and Nepal are located in the northern part of the region, while Sri Lanka and Maldives are located in the southern part of the region;
- Bhutan and Nepal are mountainous countries with mountainous climate, while Sri Lanka and Maldives are mostly lowland countries with tropical climate;
- Bhutan and Nepal are continental countries, while Sri Lanka and Maldives are island countries;
