Why is it so hard for us to understand why people did the things they did in the past? Give two examples of things that were com
Archy [21]

Answer:

Back then, slavery existed and there was much more violence against others. It's very hard to know exactly what the common motives for things like these were. For example, women weren't allowed to wear anything that wasn't a dress and they weren't allowed to cut their hair short since this went against "the norm" but that didn't stop them. During the Roaring 20's women decided to change things up with "the norm" of society. It became a lot more common to see women with shorts on and pixie cuts.

Why were the Ottomans so successful at expanding and unifying their empire?
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
Pressured out of their homes in the Asian steppes by the Mongols, the Turkish nomadic tribes converted to Islam during the eighth and ninth centuries. By the tenth century, one of the Turkish tribes, the Seljuk, had become a significant power in the Islamic world and had adopted a settled life that included Islamic orthodoxy, a central administration, and taxation. However, many other Turkish groups remained nomadic and, pursuing the gazi tradition, sought to conquer land for Islam and to acquire war booty for themselves. This led them into conflict with the Seljuk Turks, and to pacify the nomadic tribes, the Seljuks directed them to the eastern domain of the Byzantine Empire, Anatolia. The tribe known as the Ottomans arose from one of the smaller emirates established in northwestern Anatolia after 1071. The dynasty was named for Osman (1259-1326), who began to expand his kingdom into the Byzantine Empire in Asia Minor, moving his capital to Bursa in 1326.

why did the "Return to Normalcy" agenda of U.S. presidential candidate Warren G. Harden appeal to many voters in the 1920 electi
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

Harding's agenda was to reestablish the US pre-war mindset, without the idea of war corrupting the psyches of the American public and the idea appealed to many of the voters because of the situation of the people after the world war I.

Explanation:

Re-visitation of regularity, alluding to a re-visitation of the lifestyle before World War I, was US presidential candidate Warren G. Harding's effort trademark for the election of 1920. Despite the fact that naysayers of the time attempted to deprecate "regularity" as a neologism just as a malapropism, saying that it was inadequately begat by Harding (instead of the more acknowledged term ordinariness), there was contemporaneous conversation and proof that routines had been recorded in word references as far back as 1857.
