On June 20, 1790, Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton and Representative from Virginia James Madison met to discuss issues at Congress. These men were political opponents.Hamilton, a Federalist, wanted the Federal Government control the political and economic power; Madison and Jefferson, Republicans, wanted the states to have this power. This meeting is known as the “Compromise of 1790.”

During this compromise It was agreed that the capital would be moved to the South. In this way the south received compensation over the war debts between Hamilton and Jefferson. The result was that Philadelphia was replaced by Washington as the nation´s capital.

kakasveta [241]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, neither mention the plans referred, we can say the following.

The plans put forth at the Constitutional Convention adequately addressed the problems that existed under the Articles of Confederation to the extent that these allowed the creation of the new Constitution for the United States with a solid central government that included many powers that did not exist under the Articles of Confederation.

Let's have in mind that under the Articles of Confederation, the central government was weak. It was the states the only ones that could raise money through taxation. Congress was very limited.

That is why the delegates et at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to create the new form of government.

zepelin [54]
Some here say China was weak, the losers in all wars are the weaker combatant. People here want to act like this was different than other wars but this is just how most wars are fought. One nation is stronger than the other so it forces its will on the weaker nation. An example would be the CCP forcing its will on the people of Tibet. China was the stronger and Tibet was the weaker. Sometimes the weaker nation can prolong these conflicts long enough that it becomes too costly for the stronger nation to continue. Then the weaker nation can get better conditions. China had the advantage of geography, it was very expensive for the foreign nations to fight in China but China had no unity or will. The powers in control cared little about what they had to give up, they figured the Chinese people would pay for the cost. The rules only care was to retain power. But the foreign nations did have superior everything.
