The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George III on October 7, 1763, succeeding Great Britain's acquirement of French land in North America while the Quebec Act of 1774 was approved by the British Parliament to establish a stable administration in Canada to replace the temporary government created at the time of the Proclamation of 1763. Both of these acts have in common is that they interfered with the colonial claims to western lands.
