     The 13th amendment not only banned slavery, but had a lot to do, with the economy. There have been many job opportunities that became available due to slave shortages.Any farmer who was unable to afford paying employees had to sell any or all of their land. There were many jobs available, but none were openly available to African Americans. African Americans began finding employment very difficult due to the southern hate for their race.
