The correct answer is A) It struck down the use of strict racial quotas.

The Regents v Bakke changed affirmative action policies in that it struck down the use of strict racial quotas.

Regents of the University of California v. Bakke was a Supre Court case of October 12, 1977, and decided on June 26, 1978. Alan Bakke had been rejected twice by the University of California Medical School at Davis. The University reserved 16 places for “minorities.” But Bakke had better marks than the minorities students admitted. The Supreme Court agreed that the University’s use of racial quotas was against the Constitution and ordered the University to accept Bakke.

Which debate almost prevented the Treaty of Paris from being ratified?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

The debate about granting the Philippines independence almost prevented the Treaty of Paris from being ratified.

Explanation:

 • Amidst the engagements being carried out for the accomplishment of the 'Treaty of Paris', the Congress was deliberately discussing over the issue of granting the Philippines independence.
 • There was a hot debate going on as the 'Treaty of Paris' included certain clauses that pertained to the US government paying $20 million to Spain for ceding the Philippines to US.
 • If the United States would have paid Spain the predetermined amount of compensation, granting 'independence to the Philippines' would have become more difficult.

How was Jose de San Martin influences by the enlightenment?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

San Martin did just that, securing Argentinian independence and liberating Chile and Peru from Spanish rule in part through a daring march across the Andes. Though he met with Simon Bolivar, liberator of several northern South American countries, they were unable to agree to greater cooperation.
