What is another significant process or event that occurred during Nixon's Administration?

History

The ending of US involvement in the Vietnam War was another policy/event that happened under President Nixon. This policy became known as Vietnamization. This policy revolved around: helping the South Vietnamese army to fight the war on their own through assistance in military weapons and help in developing military strategies as well as the gradual withdrawal of troops.

Nixon's involvement in the Watergate Scandal affected American politics greatly, as he was on the verge of being impeached for his obstruction of justice during the investigation into the Watergate break-in. He ultimately became the first and only US President to ever sign from the office. His actions caused a significant lack of trust of the American citizens towards the office of the president.
