(3 cos x-4 sin x)+(3sin x+4 cos x)=5
(3cos x+4cos x)+(-4sin x+3 sin x)=5
7 cos x-sin x=5
7cos x=5+sin x
(7 cos x)²=(5+sinx)²
49 cos²x=25+10 sinx+sin²x
49(1-sin²x)=25+10 sinx+sin²x
49-49sin²x=25+10sinx+sin²x
50 sin² x+10sinx-24=0

Sin x=[-10⁺₋√(100+4800)]/100=(-10⁺₋70)/100
We have two possible solutions:
sinx =(-10-70)/100=-0.8
x=sin⁻¹ (-0.8)=-53.13º      (360º-53.13º=306.87)

sinx=(-10+70)/100=0.6
x=sin⁻¹ 0.6=36.87º

The solutions when  0≤x≤360º are:  36.87º and 306.87º.

What is the average rate of change of the function f(x)=20(14)xf(x)=20(14)x from x = 1 to x = 2? Enter your answer, as a decimal
Advocard [28]
The average rate of a function f(x) over an interval x = a and x = b is given by:

Average \ Rate \ of \ Change= \frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

Given the function

f(x)=20(14)^x

The average rate of change from x = 1 to x = 2 is given by:

\frac{f(2)-f(1)}{2-1} = \frac{20(14)^2-20(14)^1}{1}  \\  \\ =20(196-14)=20(182)=3,640

A supporting goods store sells 2 fishing reels and 5 fishing rods for $243. Later, they still 8 fishing reels and 6 fishing rods
Gwar [14]
To answer this, you can set up a system of equations.  Solve for one of the variables and substitute this new equation into the 2nd equation.

2x + 5y = 243 - I'll solve this one for x.
8x + 6y = 538

2x + 5y = 243
2x = 243 - 5y
2          2
x = 121.5 - 2.5y ;  substitute this in for x in the second equation

8x + 6y = 538
8 (121.5 - 2.5y) + 6y = 538
972 - 20y + 6y = 538
972 - 14y = 538
-972            -972
-14y = -434
-14       -14
y = 31

<u><em>The cost of a rod (y) is $31.  </em></u>

x = 121.5 - 2.5y
x = 121.5 - 2.5 x 31
x = 44

<em><u>The cost of a reel(x) is $44.</u></em>

The amount of power why solar panel a can produce with an area of x Square meters can be represented by the equation Y equals 10
vodka [1.7K]

Solar panel B produce more power

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the amount of power produced by solar panel A with an area of x square meters is modeled by equation y=1020x

For solar panel B, find the equation that models the amount of power produced;

Taking points on the linear graph : (1,1200)  and (2,2400) the slope is given as;

m=Δy/Δx

m=2400-1200/2-1 = 1200/1 =1200

Finding the equation

m=Δy/Δx

y-1200/x-1 =1200

y-1200 = 1200x-1200

y= 1200x

Comparing the two models , when area of solar panel is 2 square meters power produced will be;

Panel A, Y=1020x = 1020*2 = 2040 watts

Panel B, Y=1200x =1200*2 =2400  watts

Hence solar panel B produces more power.
