Temperate grassland is called granary of the world because it is famous for producing wheat at a large scale. It is a fertile grassland with favorable climatic conditions provides wheat and other cereals in a very large quantity.

Explanation:

Temperate grassland is located in the temperate climatic region of the world mainly within 23.5 degree north to 66.5 degree north and 23.5 degree south to 66.5 degree south. These grasslands are known by different regional name in different countries.

Prairies in North America, Pampas in South America, Veldt in Africa, Downs in Australia and Steppe in Eurasia. These grasslands have very fertile soil and productive capacity with favorable climatic condition which help it to produce wheat and other crops in a large quantity.

5 ways in which children’s right can be protected and promoted:

1.       Register the birth of the child. Hence the child will not be recognized by the state and will not receive care nor education if not registered.

2.       Care for children if they are sick. Children must be fed, be protected from drugs and enjoy living conditions which are not dangerous to their health.

3.       Send children to school. They have the right to an education and access to skills which will help them prepare for their future.

4.       Ensure that the child/children are living with people who love and care for them, preferably their families or by carers if their families cannot look after them.
