Mr. Framton is one of the characters in the book written by Saki "The Open Window." Mr. Framton goes to the house for a more needed rest recommended by his doctor. A fifteen year old girl named Vera who lives in the house tries to play a practical joke on the man and take advantage of the man´s lower than average intelligence. She tells him a tragic story of her uncle and cousins who went hunting 3 years ago and never came back. Her aunt still have the window open waiting for the men to comeback.

The correct answer in 4 because the man run off without saying goodbye because he thinks he sees ghosts, especially after the girl tells him that she can see her uncle and cousins as ghosts. Mr. Framton who was having some mental breakdowns concludes that the story most be true, and runs out of the house when he thinks that he is actually hearing and seeing the ghosts.

The answer is 1: He thinks the fighting is foolish and wasteful.

The narrator's view on the scene is not pleasant at all, Grendel finds himself in the middle of chaos, in the middle of all the battle's wastefulness and dead bodies of animals and men, and he can't help to see it as confusing and frightening and to feel "sick". All of this reveals that Grendel thinks the fighting is foolish and wasteful.
