In the presence of lactose, the gene for beta-galactosidase is turned on by induction. The RNA polymerase binds to the promoter, in the presence of lactose. Lactose binds to repressor leading to structural changes so that it does not bind to the promoter.  This leads to the production of beta-galactosidase which breaks the bond between glucose and galactose, for utilization of lactose.

How can organisms build large polymers like proteins and starches?
andrey2020 [161]

Answer:

Explanation:

Most (but not all) biological macro molecules are polymers, which are any molecules constructed by linking together many smaller molecules, called monomers. If we were to string many carbohydrate monomers together we could make a polyacrylamide like starch. Proteins can be converted into energy, but your body prefers to use them for more essential jobs. Proteins build and repair every tissue in your body. They’re used to make hormones, enzymes, hemoglobin and antibodies, and they’re responsible for functions such as muscle contraction. The proteins in your body are made from 20 different amino acids. Starch or asylum is a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of numerous glucose units joined by glycogen bonds. This polyacrylamide is produced by most green plants as energy storage.

polymer: A relatively large molecule consisting of a chain or network of many identical or similar monomers chemically bonded to each other.

I need help on a 250 word essay about facts about like scientific knowledge.
Maslowich

Scientific knowledge refers to a generalized body of laws and theories to explain a phenomenon or behavior of interest that are acquired using the scientific method. Laws are observed patterns of phenomena or behaviors, while theories are systematic explanations of the underlying phenomenon or behavior.Scientific Knowledge is Based on Empirical Evidence Identifies accurate examples of data used for evidence. For example: Much of the data about the seafloor is collected without direct observations. ... For example: the sonar mapping activity graph can serve as a model of the seafloor.Scientific knowledge allows us to develop new technologies, solve practical problems, and make informed decisions — both individually and collectively. Because its products are so useful, the process of science is intertwined with those applications: New scientific knowledge may lead to new applications.Scientific knowledge refers to a generalized body of laws and theories to explain a phenomenon or behavior of interest that are acquired using the scientific method. Laws are observed patterns of phenomena or behaviors, while theories are systematic explanations of the underlying phenomenon. It is derived from perception, learning, and discovery. Scientific knowledge, in particular, is organized in a systematic way and is testable and verifiable. It is used to provide explanations of the occurrence of events.Scientific knowledge is fully objective, verified by independent scientific research. The course of the conducted research, applied research methods and their nature and research issues should be determined objectively by scientists, ie independently of other entities and institutions.

Censorship: Who Should Decide What Young People Read?
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer:

No one should decide what anyone reads but ourselves. People, now matter how young or old, should be able to make the decision by themselves. If they want to read Manga, Horror books, Romance, Suspense, Mystery, Graphic Novels, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Nonfiction, Narrative, Genre Fiction, Historical Nonfiction/Fiction, Poetry, Thriller, Biography, Memoir, Autobiography, Short Story, Literary Fiction, Science Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Fairy Tail, Myth, Folktale, History, Adventure Fiction, Textbook, Prose, Fantasy Fiction, Magical Realism, Erotic Literature, Historical Romance, High Fantasy, True Crime, Occult Fiction, what ever they want to read they should be able to access them. Now I'm not saying young children's minds shouldn't be protected. For example, if I were to take your privilege of reading away and say that you are only allowed to read Fantasy books, despite your age, that would not be right and would cause civil disputes in the literary world. We should promote a cause that enables any aged children, especially young minds, to be able to pick from the entire literary universe. We shouldn't force people to integrate into books that we want, instead into books that everyone wants. In conclusion, no one should decide what we read but ourselves.
